And so, without further ado, let's start with today's video. American Express and Delta Air Lines have launched a new credit card design made from a retired Boeing 747 aircraft. In the year 2018, Delta Air Lines retired the last of its Boeing 747s, the iconic wide-body jets which, from their first flights in the year 1969, forever changed the scale and magnitude of commercial air travel. Also, the airline sent most of its decommissioned fleet to boneyards in Arizona, California, and New Mexico, save for ship 6301, the first Delta 747-400 to ever take flight, which today consists of the immersive 747 Experience at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta. For aircraft enthusiasts still nostalgic for the "Queen of the Sky," today, the airline, in partnership with AmEx, has announced a limited-edition run of credit cards made from metal cut from Delta ship 6307, the first-ever credit card upcycled from a decommissioned 747. The newest in a 25-year travel rewards card partnership between American Express as well as Delta, the limited-edition offering of Delta SkyMiles Reserve as well as the Reserve Business cards was crafted from metal from the plane's exterior, which was retired in 2017. The result? A collector-worthy credit card, 25% of which is pulled straight from the annals of aviation history, is available through August 3rd, or until supplies run out. This is the latest special-edition metal card AmEx has issued this year; back in January, the company partnered with artists Kehinde Wiley and Julie Mehretu on platinum card designs. Furthermore, the limited-edition metal cards have been made using materials including 25% airplane metal from Delta Ship #6307. US-based customers can apply for the unique Boeing 747 Delta Skymiles Reserve or Reserve Business cards by August 3rd, which will be available "while stocks last". And for those familiar with the Chase Sapphire Preferred card, the Boeing 747 design has the same weight and heft to it. If you are used to the Amex Platinum, this card is slightly more flexible to the touch. This card comes with an augmented reality welcome kit, allowing cardholders to learn about the history of the Delta Ship #6307 as well as the Boeing 747, and the flight stories and all the details about the transformation of the airplane metal into a card. So, how can you get the Boeing 747 credit card? Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card and Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card members will have exclusive access to these Boeing 747 credit cards between June 16 and August 3, as long as supplies last. If you are an existing member, you can log into your account and opt to swap your current card for this limited-edition design. If you don’t already have the Delta SkyMiles Reserve American Express Card, there are a few more reasons why it’s worth signing up for now, beyond the limited-edition Boeing 747 card design. This premium card comes with the highest level of perks of all Delta consumer cards and is currently offering a best-ever introductory bonus. You can receive a Domestic First Class, Delta Comfort+, or Main Cabin round-trip companion certificate each year upon renewal of your card. Moreover, you can access Delta Sky Clubs when traveling on a Delta-marketed or operated flight and access to AmEx Centurion Lounges when booking your Delta flight on the card. And on Delta flights, you can expect the Main Cabin 1 priority boarding, one free checked bag for the cardholder, as well as up to eight travel companions on the same itinerary.
